Is this Angus or Malcolm Young of AC-DC fame in this advert? Where's Bon Scott? TAA Boeing 727-076 TV Commercial 1972. Apparently the chap in the TAA commercial is John Farnham (Johnny Farnham, as he was known back then). His website is here: http://www.johnfarnham.com.au He had a huge hit in the late '60s with a song called 'Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)'. He was dubbed 'King Of Pop' for years. He's a bit of an icon in Oz these days. Though not that well known overseas, he did front the Little River Band for a while. Back then Qantas only flew international routes, while TAA (the government airline) was in competition with Ansett Airlines on domestic routes. BTW AC/DC started putting their act together in 1973 in the Melbourne suburb of Balwyn! Cheers and happy flying videos, from Mark Jones, Warilla, NSW, Australia.

Window view from the Flying Bulls Douglas DC-6B N996DM c/n 45563 (ex V5-NCF NCA Classic Air) at Salzburg International airport. (August 2000). At that time the DC-6 was still in NCA colors and our pleasure flight across the Austrian Alps was crewed by veteran Captain Flippie Vermeulen, co-pilot Klaus Plaza and F/E Lean van der Colf. Thanks to Harald Reiter for making this flight possible.

This is a very nice colour early 1950s period piece about the developement of helicopters. Watch for the Hiller Hornet prototype, Kaman HOK-1, Piasecki H-21 "Flying Banana", Bell 47G, etc. Also check out the Continental DC-6 take-off, Capital DC-4s, plus GREAT COLOUR footage of the McDonnell F2H "Banshee" jet fighter.

While on the brink of a military confrontation with China, Air Force One crashes in the desert, killing the President. This brings Vice-President Kermit Madigan to power who, having been left in the dark by the president, must now rely on his predecessor's aides to guide him. But they have markedly different viewpoints and hidden agendas. Will he blunder his way into a nuclear exchange with the Chinese? Filmed in 1971, but delayed for airing until 1973 by ABC because that was the year of President Richard Nixon's trip to China, and they didn't want to show the Chinese as villains!Watch for an ex-United Air Lines Boeing 720 masquerading as a VC-137C! When UAL sold off their fleet of 720s in 1971, they ended up all over the place; travel clubs, films, and flying Led Zeppelin around in "Starship One."
