Cliff Robertson stars and directs the movie called the "The Pilot" about an alcoholic DC-8 pilot. This film is an aviation classic and features lots of air-to-air footage of North American Airlines DC-8-30. Robertson was a stunt pilot and added a DC8 typerating so he could fly the air-to-air stuff himself. Camera ship was flown by Clay Lacy. The movie was filmed in 1978 and released in 1980 and have never been released to video or DVD.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Miami International Airport boasted the worlds largest collection of classic propliners and vintage Boeing 707 and DC-8 jetliners. Back then, Miami was the undisputed mecca for airliner photographers. Miami aviation slide shooter legend Eddy Gual luckily documented all the action on video. This DVD is a highlight of those now distant memories of when the classic props and jets called Miami home. This DVD serves up nearly two solid hours of nothing but classic propliner action, and classic heart-pounding 707 and DC-8 action.

This was the first 707 delivered to Qantas in 1959, and was restored in the UK and flown from Southend, UK back to Australia in late 2006. Sadly, this classic jetliner will not fly anymore now that it has permanently retired to Longreach.
