In this day and age of boring, sterile, plastic air transports, the thrill of flying on vintage, classic airliners of the past is all but a fading memory.
Once common airliner types like the BAC One Eleven, Airbus A300, Boeing 720, and even Boeing 737-200s and 727-100s have all but vanished from the skies. As an enthusiast, it is almost impossible to find commercial airlines still operating these types to savour a flight.
Back in the 1990s, aviation videographer Henry Tenby had the foresight and enthusiasm to video document flights in these various commercial jetliners, so that they could be enjoyed and savoured by future generations of hard-core aviation fans. Most of the filming is from the passenger experience in the cabin and includes many engine starts, taxi, and of course and take-off and landing sequences.
This 106 minute DVD is jam-packed with footage reliving the old days of flying on classic passenger jet transports. There is even some cockpit footage filmed on the L1011 and the Boeing 720, as well as flight attendant safety briefings and other interesting passenger views of an era that is now but gone.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: On 25 August 1950, Convair issued a formal proposal for a swept-winged version of the B-36 with all-jet propulsion. The United States Air Force was sufficiently interested that on 15 March 1951, the USAF authorized Convair to convert two B-36Fs (49-2676 and 49-2684) as B-36Gs. Since the aircraft was so radically different from the existing B-36, the designation was soon changed to YB-60.
