In this AirlineHobby.com DVD feature, airline videographer Henry Tenby takes us for a January, 1995, round-trip flight between Budapest and Prague, aboard Malev Tu-143 HA-LBR. Malev’s Tupolev Tu-134s were retired shortly thereafter, and this DVD presents the viewer with the ultimate onboard experience of flying on this classic Russian short-haul jetliner. Seated in the back row for both Tupolev Tu134 flights, where the engine noise is at its loudest, you’ll also sample Malev’s onboard service, and visit the flight-deck. The Tupolev Tu134’s howling Solovyev D-30 turbofan engines provide a truly magnificent flight experience. A music to the ears, which no current-day western aircraft can compete with!

http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/Mars2010dvd.html On February 24, 2010, a major propliner event nearly went unnoticed. The City of Richmond arranged for a Martin Mars to fly to Steveston (in South Richmond, BC) and land on the Fraser River, moor overnight off the beach at Garry Point Park, and then depart the following day laying on a water drop aerial display for those present. This was all arranged in celebration of the City of Richmond's support of the 2010 Winter Games. Airline videographer Henry Tenby filmed the entire display of Hawaii Mars C-FLYL forever preserving this historic event. It’s all here including engine start, the lengthy engine warm ups as the aircraft water taxied up and down the Fraser River, the spectacular take-off, the water scoop, water drop and final flypast. Filmed with broadcast video equipment, the sights and sounds of this remarkable piston pounder can be savoured in all their glorious splendour. This DVD will be most appreciated by true propliner connoisseurs!
