Northern Air Cargo Douglas DC-6A N779TA (c/n 45529) comes in to land at Fairbanks International Airport. (July 2003). I saw this aircraft flying cargo for Trans-Air-link out of Miami International back in the mid-eighties! Now she sits engineless in the gras at Fairbanks waiting for a brighter future!

NWT Air Lockheed Hercules C-GHPW DVD http://henrytenby.com/DVDs/Hercdvd.html In the Fall of 1993, an isolated gravel airstrip 160 air miles north of Yellowknife named Salamida was the scene of a massive, two million pound airlift. This set Canada’s Northwest Territories on course to becoming a major world producer of diamonds. At the time, aviation videographer Henry Tenby was employed by NWT Air, and he video documented the Salamida airlift activities of the company’s Lockheed L100-30 Hercules C-GHPW. The Herc was tasked with hauling heavy, over-sized mining equipment between Yellowknife and Salamida in support of the nearby Koala mine site in an airlift operation which spanned several months. This DVD features fabulous Herc flightdeck footage, and plenty of gravel strip landing, taxi, unloading, and take-off Herc action, all filmed runway-side on location at Salamida. There’s also footage of the Twin Otters and DC-4 aircraft that served in this airlift, as well as an exclusive air-to-air photo session with the Herc, and a special air-to-air on Helifor’s Chinook to the Koala mine site. A special thanks goes out to NWT Air’s Herc crew for making this unique and historic DVD possible. Herc fans will love this DVD.

In 1986 the Bristol Freighter ZK-CPT ('Merchant Courier') was flown into Omaka Aerodrome (Blenheim, New Zealand) and retired. The aircraft engines were subsequently run on several occasions, but this has not occurred for over 20 years. Enter Alastair Marshall - ex RNZAF Engine Technician, now commercial pilot, and a piston engine enthusiast. Over the past few months, Al has been working on the two Bristol Hercules engines on the aircraft, with the goal of getting the old girl to come to life once more. On 27th September 2008, both engines were fired up, and the aircraft taxied about on Omaka Aerodrome for the first time in approximately twenty years. Congratulations to Al and his team of willing helpers.

Reeve Aleutian Airways was the oldest airline in Alaska, founded by Alaskan aviation pioneer Robert C. Reeve in 1932. Reeve’s niche operation focused service on the remote Aleutian island chain, and the Reeve fleet was comprised of two Boeing 727-100 combis, and three immaculate Lockheed L188 Electras. In December, 1999, Reeve Aleutian Airways ceased operations so ending the final chapter of passenger Electra operations. This AirlineHobby.com DVD allows us to join airline videographer Henry Tenby on March 2, 1996, aboard the all-passenger configured N1968R from Anchorage to St. Paul Island in the Aleutians, under the command of Captain Larry Williamson. Then in August, 1996, we return to Alaska with to sample a few more Reeve Electra flights.

http://www.henrytenby.com/dvd.html http://www.AirlineTV.net Filmed by Henry Tenby, with special thanks to John Sessions of the Historical Flight Foundation for the invitation to fly on their Douglas DC-3 N877MG. This aircraft was recently restored back to fabulous like new condition. This video was filmed on the media flight at the Abbotsford Airshow, Friday August 8, 2014, which took us out over Harrison Lake, east of the Abbotsford airport. There were about a dozen media photogs on board. It was a terrific day for a flight on a DC-3! Towards the end of the video we do a high G turn before landing.
