Air Canada CRJ900 C-FLJZ landing Vancouver on a July summer evening around 8 pm. Filmed with my trust Sony TRV480 Digital 8 cam. Please excuse the crickets in the background. They were ignoring my requests for silence on the set.

NWT Air Lockheed Hercules C-GHPW DVD http://henrytenby.com/DVDs/Hercdvd.html In the Fall of 1993, an isolated gravel airstrip 160 air miles north of Yellowknife named Salamida was the scene of a massive, two million pound airlift. This set Canada’s Northwest Territories on course to becoming a major world producer of diamonds. At the time, aviation videographer Henry Tenby was employed by NWT Air, and he video documented the Salamida airlift activities of the company’s Lockheed L100-30 Hercules C-GHPW. The Herc was tasked with hauling heavy, over-sized mining equipment between Yellowknife and Salamida in support of the nearby Koala mine site in an airlift operation which spanned several months. This DVD features fabulous Herc flightdeck footage, and plenty of gravel strip landing, taxi, unloading, and take-off Herc action, all filmed runway-side on location at Salamida. There’s also footage of the Twin Otters and DC-4 aircraft that served in this airlift, as well as an exclusive air-to-air photo session with the Herc, and a special air-to-air on Helifor’s Chinook to the Koala mine site. A special thanks goes out to NWT Air’s Herc crew for making this unique and historic DVD possible. Herc fans will love this DVD.

Bring your ear defenders and woolies, as we’re going on three trips out of Yellowknife with First Air. You’ll enjoy time on the HS748 flight deck, back in the cargo hold, as well as time in the passenger cabin, enjoying life on the HS748 as she earns her keep. This AirlineHobby.com DVD filmed by Henry Tenby features lots of ear-splitting exterior footage showing HS748s at work with First Air and other operators including Air North, Air Creebec, and Calm Air.

This video is a tribute to the retirement WestJet's very last Boeing 737-200 aircraft on January 9, 2006. The company started operations in 1996 with just a few 737-200s and has grown to become Canada's second largest airline. Enjoy.

These 1960s air-to-air and landing / take-off demo reels of Air Canada DC-8s are really superb! The TCA and Air Canada Vickers Vanguard footage is a nice bonus!

The world's last two Martin Mars are operated by Coulson Flying Tankers based at Sproat Lake, near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Built just as WWII came to end, the two Mars are highly effective fire fighting aircraft that have worked the BC coast since the late 1950s. Being the world's last operational examples of the great flying boat era, the Mars attract attention everywhere. In January, 2008, Hawaii Mars C-FLYL was based in Vancouver Harbour for the annual Truck Loggers convention held at Canada Place. The Mars flew daily wowing crowds with a water drop right in front of Canada Place attracting extensive media coverage. Airline videographer Henry Tenby had exclusive access and filmed this historic visit using broadcast cameras.

Henry Tenby of AirlineTV.net filmed this footage at the Abbotsford Airshow 2010 media day on Thursday, August 12, 2010. This footage highlights the Lanc's flight that day with engine starts, run ups, take-off, airfield beat-ups, tax in and shut down. It was fabulous to hear four Rolls Royce Merline engines perform. Where else on the planet can you relive the authentic sounds of a DC-4M2 NorthStar, Argonaut, Avro Lancastrian and Avro York in this day and age! This Lanc and one other Lanc (in the UK) are the only two operational examples in the world. Without a doubt, the RCAF Avro Lancaster from the Canadian Warplane Heritage museum in Hamilton, Ontario stole the show at the 2010 Abbotsford Airshow. The Lanc was flown all the way across Canada to attend the show, and made a week's long maintenance stop in Calgary enroute to Abbotsford. What an amazing sight to see and hear a fully operational Lanc in all her splendour. This particular aircraft was built in 1945 and did not see service in WWII, but served in a Search and Rescue role with the RCAF until the early 60s. It was music to the hear to hear this old girl perform. Sadly all of our media requests for interviews and filming were refused by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum PR lady when we spoke to her several weeks before hand. Every single question was answered with the word "no" ... what a shame. They would not allow us to film them in Calgary, we could not install a micro video cam in the cockpit for inflight filming, we could not do air-to-air, we could not fly on the aircraft, nor could we get any exclusive interviews. That said, I am extremely grateful that we captured the Lanc on HD video for the viewing enjoyment of future generations, as nobody really knows how long this flying museum piece will remain operational. Shame the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum wasn't more helpful.
