ORDER DVD HERE: http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/AirCanada1970s.html The 1970s was an era of transition for Air Canada. The airline retired the last of the very popular Vickers Viscounts, as well as the Vickers Vanguards, and introduced the new widebody Boeing 747 and Lockheed L-1011 Tristar aircraft. These start-of-the-art high capacity airliners truly made travel by air a mass-market phenomena for the travelling public. In this DVD we start out with a very historic film reel filmed by Air Canada's PR department on the occasion of the very last Vickers Viscount service between Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto on April 1, 1974. The film quality is not up to today's standards but to see this footage (filmed mostly on board) is as close to time machine as we're going to experience. We then present early 1970s promotional films made by the airline to introduce the new 747 and L-1011. The L-1011 film is hosted by TV personality of the day Don McGowan, and also features an interview with Air Canada's fleet planning expert Clayton Glen. Also included are a number of 1970s era Air Canada TV adverts that promote the brand new widebody aircraft, services and destinations of the day. Aircraft fans will enjoy the Douglas DC-9 stock footage reels, which includes some very neat air-to-air footage of the baby DC-9. The 1976 aircraft action footage filmed mostly at YVR is the icing on the cake, and features great scenes of Air Canada DC-9s, 747s, Tristars, and DC-8s in glorious action!

BUY THIS DVD HERE: http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/AirCanadaVangDC8.html When Trans-Canada Air Lines first took delivery of their Vanguards in the early 1960s, the company PR department filmed the inaugural Vanguard flights to Jamaica, Barbados and Bermuda in colour. This amazing footage includes plenty of onboard footage of the cabin services as well as passenger boardings and arrivals at the various airports. A summer of Expo '67 Air Canada Vanguard departure from Quebec City was also filmed in colour as was an early TCA Vanguard flight to and from Edmonton during a cold winter's day in early 1960s. These sound films are the most comprehensive period Vanguard films that have ever been presented on DVD, and they represent the entire film documentation of the Vanguard existing in the current Air Canada archives. Back in the mid 1960s, Air Canada's PR department also filmed some of the inaugural DC-8 jet services and those reels that remained in the archives are included in their entirety on this DVD. You'll see the first TCA DC-8 service to Dusseldorf, the first Air Canada DC-8 service from Miami to Toronto, a mid 1960s Air Canada DC-8 service to Frankfurt as well as other Air Canada DC-8 stock reels filmed at various European airports.

Filmed by Henry Tenby. I forgot my tripod attachment clasp today so this clip is hand held. The sounds of the Darts winding up compensates for the lack of tripod on this session.

PURCHASE YOUR AIR NORTH HS748 DVD:http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/AirNorthHS748dvd.html This morning videographer Henry Tenby went out to Vancouver's South Terminal to film the Sunday morning departure of two Air North HS748s on their summer fishing charters. This video was shot on a Canon T2i SLR digi camera, and the quality seems to be every bit as good as a pro video camera. The large image sensor does a fabulous job rending a clear, crisp image. And the sound is direct capture by camera. No external mic was used. We were recently up north and flew on Air North's HS748 and filmed in HD so in due course we will release another Air North HS748 DVD .. specially for all the Rolls Royce Dart fans our there!
