Filmed by Lockheed: The F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing variant completed ship suitability testing aboard the USS WASP (LHD-1) off the coast of Virginia in October 2011. Combined, F-35B test aircraft BF-2 and BF-4 accomplished 72 short takeoffs and 72 vertical landings during the three-week testing period.
This clip suposedly show the first flight of the new F-35BF, which can fly in directions like no other aircraft. It can fly quickly and stop on a dime in mid flight... kind like what UFOs are reported to be able to do. Have a look for yourself. I am not sure of the authenticity of this clip. It looks like it could be Hollywood special effects magic.
AWESOME promo for the magnificent Fairey Rotodyne. The aircraft come helicopter was cancelled at the last minute; largely due to the insanely loud pulse jets on the rotor tips. BEA (British European Airways) was the lead customer, and had the VTOL craft went into service, it surely would have been a novel success.
