A very charming film concerning an airline hostess who attracts three guys named Mike, hence the title. Film is centered around an American Airlines Convair 240. Not alot of "Airliner candy", but the nostalgia and classic airport scenes of this movie makes up for it.

The Handley Page H.P.42 and H.P.45 were British four-engined long-range biplane airliners designed to a 1928 Imperial Airways specification by Handley Page of Radlett in Hertfordshire. The H.P.42/45 were the land-based airliners of Imperial Airways and along with the company's later flying boats are well remembered. Eight aircraft were built, four of each type; all were named, with names beginning with the letter "H". One was destroyed in an airship hangar fire in 1937 but the remainder survived to be impressed into Royal Air Force service at the outbreak of the Second World War.

This promotional film was made for BOAC in 1963 and shows the preparation and flight of a BOAC Boeing 707. It also contains some great shots of the BOAC VC-10, together with Heathrow, Kai Tak, and New York airports in the early 1960s.

I believe this film was produced for BEA in 1968 to showcase the autoland features of the BEA Trident aircraft, and shows many classic shots of airports and aircraft of the 1960s. It follows a Trident on a typical flight from Paris Le Bourget to London Heathrow. It also shows BEA's West London Air Terminal and their new automated reservations centre.

This is a 1950s newsreel on the Sanders Roe SR A/1 and Convair Sea Dart water jets. The Saunders-Roe SR.A/1 was a prototype fighter aircraft tested by the Royal Air Force shortly after World War II. The first prototype flew on July 15, 1947, and while it and its two sisters proved to have good performance and handling, the need for such aircraft had completely evaporated with the end of the war. Furthermore, the success of the aircraft carrier in the Pacific had demonstrated a far more effective way to project airpower over the oceans. In addition, the cockpit canopy was small and heavily framed, giving the pilot a poor view outside the aircraft. The project was finally abandoned in May 1951.

Design and development The origins of the Empire boats lay in an Air Ministry requirement for passenger and mail carriers that could service the colonies particularly to make the connection to Australia.
