AWESOME sights & sounds from those big Allisons! Varig operated their Electras on the Ponte Aerea until 1992, when the fleet was sold to two-bit airlines in Africa. The footage was taken at Rio's Santos Dumont Airport.
Landing at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport (FNJ) onboard Tu-154B-2 registered as P-561 and operated by Air Koryo. The runway is far north of the airport complex, hence the slow reverse thrust engagement. The engines are Kuznetsov NK-8-2U with the distinctive secondary air inlet doors to provide additional air. Sorry for the reflections, there was no chance to avoid them. The landing was relatively soft although it looks like a hard impact, kudos to the Tupolev gear design built for rough field operations.

The video also explains the company's history along with the Bristol Superfreighter. The video footage is spectacular. Safe Air ceased operations when the Argosy was retired in 1990.
