http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/Mars2010dvd.html On February 24, 2010, a major propliner event nearly went unnoticed. The City of Richmond arranged for a Martin Mars to fly to Steveston (in South Richmond, BC) and land on the Fraser River, moor overnight off the beach at Garry Point Park, and then depart the following day laying on a water drop aerial display for those present. This was all arranged in celebration of the City of Richmond's support of the 2010 Winter Games. Airline videographer Henry Tenby filmed the entire display of Hawaii Mars C-FLYL forever preserving this historic event. It’s all here including engine start, the lengthy engine warm ups as the aircraft water taxied up and down the Fraser River, the spectacular take-off, the water scoop, water drop and final flypast. Filmed with broadcast video equipment, the sights and sounds of this remarkable piston pounder can be savoured in all their glorious splendour. This DVD will be most appreciated by true propliner connoisseurs!

The Martin Mars performed a water bombing demo for the 2005 Tall Ships event on Vancouver Island. In this footage the Mars does a few impressive water drops. The last active season for the Sproat Lake, BC-based Martin Mars was 2006. These planes are now retired and for sale.

AirlineTV.net cameraman Henry Tenby filmed the first ever arrival of a Martin Mars flying boat at Vancouver Harbour. Hawaii Mars C-FLYL is seen here arriving in Vancouver Harbour for the first time ever. This is one of two remaining Mars flying boats both of which are operated by Coulson Flying Tankers. The Mars is visiting Canada Place for the annual Truck Loggers Association convention being held January 16-18, 2008, at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre at Canada Place. The Mars will perform water drop demonstrations each day during its visit. For more videos of this exciting visit visit www.AirlineTV.net

This 1988 video clip starts with Captain Silva doing his pre-flight walk around the MAS F27. We then join him on the flightdeck for MAS Flight 278/278 Kuala Lumpur - Johore Bahru - Kuala Lumpur. Missed approach in JB is kind of interesting.

The Lockheed Constellation, affectionately known as the Connie was a four-engine propeller-driven airliner built by Lockheed between 1943 and 1958 at its Burbank, California facility. A total of 856 aircraft were produced in four models, all distinguished by a distinctive triple-tail design and graceful, dolphin-shaped fuselage. This video clip was filmed by German TV and documents the MATS Connie in the USA several years ago. Videographer not known. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Constellation
