Order this DVD from www.AirlneHobby.com DVDs: In early March, 2011, we were blessed to have RAF VC10 C1K XV104 in Vancouver for a week of maintenance. It was too cold to perform the work in Calgary so the aircraft crew positioned to the warmer climes of Vancouver so the crews could work outside in relative comfort. This is probably the last visit of a VC10 to Vancouver, the last being in August of 2004. A very special thank you to the RAF and crew of the VC10 for their kind help in making this filming possible. Enjoy the sounds of the Rolls Royce Conway engines! Filmed by Henry Tenby with a Sony HD HVR-A1U, edited in iMovie.

Classic scenes from that classic film, here we have an ex-Delta CV-880 taxiing for the cameras for a movie. Listen to those GE CJ-805s! Judging by all the interior shots, this appears to have been filmed on board the genuine aircraft. Delta, along with TWA, retired their Convair Jets in 1974.

AWESOME promo for the magnificent Fairey Rotodyne. The aircraft come helicopter was cancelled at the last minute; largely due to the insanely loud pulse jets on the rotor tips. BEA (British European Airways) was the lead customer, and had the VTOL craft went into service, it surely would have been a novel success.

http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/FlyingClassics.html In this day and age of boring, sterile, plastic air transports, the thrill of flying on vintage, classic airliners of the past is all but a fading memory. Once common airliner types like the BAC One Eleven, Airbus A300, Boeing 720, and even Boeing 737-200s and 727-100s have all but vanished from the skies. As an enthusiast, it is almost impossible to find commercial airlines still operating these types to savour a flight. Back in the 1990s, aviation videographer Henry Tenby had the foresight and enthusiasm to video document flights in these various commercial jetliners, so that they could be enjoyed and savoured by future generations of hard-core aviation fans. Most of the filming is from the passenger experience in the cabin and includes many engine starts, taxi, and of course and take-off and landing sequences. This 106 minute DVD is jam-packed with footage reliving the old days of flying on classic passenger jet transports. There is even some cockpit footage filmed on the L1011 and the Boeing 720, as well as flight attendant safety briefings and other interesting passenger views of an era that is now but gone.

Gabon Express was an airline based in Libreville, Gabon. It operated scheduled passenger services and passenger and cargo charters. It ceased operations in June 2004. The Sud Aviation SE 210 Caravelle was the first short/medium-range jet airliner produced by the French Sud Aviation firm starting in 1955 (when it was still known as SNCASE). The Caravelle would go on to be one of the more successful European first generation jetliners, selling throughout Europe and even penetrating the United States market, with an order for 20 from United Airlines. The Caravelle established the aft-mounted-engine, clean-wing design that has since been used on a wide variety of subsequent aircraft. Filmed by Just Planes DVDs.
