ORDER DVD HERE: http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/MIAdvd.html In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Miami International Airport boasted the worlds largest collection of classic propliners and vintage Boeing 707 and DC-8 jetliners. Back then, Miami was the undisputed mecca for airliner photographers. Miami aviation slide shooter legend Eddy Gual luckily documented all the action on video. This DVD is a highlight of those now distant memories of when the classic props and jets called Miami home. This DVD serves up nearly two solid hours of nothing but classic propliner action, and classic heart-pounding 707 and DC-8 action.

The buzzwords in clean power for jet planes today are Geared Turbofan (GTF) and Advanced Turbofan (ATF). But in 1989 when this award winning story was produced, everyone was talking about Ultra High Bypass (UHB) jet engines. General Electric (GE) was testing the Unducted Fan (UDF) and a team of Pratt & Whitney and Allison were experimenting with a geared PropFan design. Test platforms consisted of a Boeing B-727 and a then Douglas MD-80 with most flights taking place at California's Mojave Airport. This video also includes an appearance by the late brilliant Aviation Week Editor Michael Dornheim. He will be missed. Clearly, this video is from our archive, not a recent production. This aircraft PP-PEF was purchased from Pan Am on 11/13/63, and sold back to Pan Am on 9/9/65. She flew for the Brasilian carrier just long enough to make this movie! Gorgeous B&W cinematography, a classic jetliner with beautifully polished aluminum engine cowlings, and a pretty 1960s Stewardess.

Western Airlines Boeing 720 in the old Indian Head livery arriving the Sea-Tac in 1972. One of only three JT3C turbojet powered 720s to wear Western's livery. These were aquired during the buy-out of Pacific Northern in 1967. Western sold these straight pipe 720s to Alaska in 1974.
