This 8mm movie was filmed by Ron Bird of Control Data Australia and it shows the Essendon Airport arrival of a large computer for Monash University in 1964. The computer was flown in on a Flying Tigers CL-44 and the clip also shows TAA and ANA 727-100s.

This film from the 1960s show FAA crash test results using a derelict Lockheed Constellation which is powered up into flame iginition posts. The resulting impact causes the Connie to burst into flames and she sheds her gear as she stumbles to the ground in a heaping pile of dissintegration and flames.

Is this Angus or Malcolm Young of AC-DC fame in this advert? Where's Bon Scott? TAA Boeing 727-076 TV Commercial 1972. Apparently the chap in the TAA commercial is John Farnham (Johnny Farnham, as he was known back then). His website is here: http://www.johnfarnham.com.au He had a huge hit in the late '60s with a song called 'Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)'. He was dubbed 'King Of Pop' for years. He's a bit of an icon in Oz these days. Though not that well known overseas, he did front the Little River Band for a while. Back then Qantas only flew international routes, while TAA (the government airline) was in competition with Ansett Airlines on domestic routes.
