This 8mm movie was filmed by Ron Bird of Control Data Australia and it shows the Essendon Airport arrival of a large computer for Monash University in 1964. The computer was flown in on a Flying Tigers CL-44 and the clip also shows TAA and ANA 727-100s.

Is this Angus or Malcolm Young of AC-DC fame in this advert? Where's Bon Scott? TAA Boeing 727-076 TV Commercial 1972. Apparently the chap in the TAA commercial is John Farnham (Johnny Farnham, as he was known back then). His website is here: http://www.johnfarnham.com.au He had a huge hit in the late '60s with a song called 'Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)'. He was dubbed 'King Of Pop' for years. He's a bit of an icon in Oz these days. Though not that well known overseas, he did front the Little River Band for a while. Back then Qantas only flew international routes, while TAA (the government airline) was in competition with Ansett Airlines on domestic routes. BTW AC/DC started putting their act together in 1973 in the Melbourne suburb of Balwyn! Cheers and happy flying videos, from Mark Jones, Warilla, NSW, Australia.
