http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/CAF7071dvd.html The Canadian Armed Forces operated a fleet of five Boeing 707 transports (code named CC-137s) from 1970 through 1997. These reliable aircraft provided the Canadian military with a truly global deployment capability, with air-to-air refueling, humanitarian, and troop and cargo transport capabilities. The footage on this DVD was filmed using state-of-the-art TV broadcast betacams. This two-part visual documentary takes the viewer for an up-close visit exploring all aspects of the operation. On this DVD, a period CAF promo film explains the workings of a trans-Atlantic CF-5 refueling flight across the pond. We then fly from Kai Tak to YVR on a Vietnamese refugee flight in 1979. Then we join troops boarding their CC-137 at Quebec City for their flight to Andoya for military exercises, along with a tanker CC-137 escorting CF-5s across the pond. There’s ample footage of all the action at Andoya airfield with lots of noisy & smoky 707 footage. The CC-137s were based at CFB Trenton where we then soak up some winter cold weather operations. Finally, we join a sked-run military passenger flight between Ottawa and CFB Trenton.

http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/CAF7072dvd.html The early 1990s was a particularly busy period for the Canadian Armed Forces and its fleet of Boeing 707 transports (code named CC-137s). Under Saddam Hussein, Iraq invaded oil-rich Kuwait on August 1, 1991, and Canada played a key role in the multi-national coalition. This documentary DVD explains the 707’s key role in this conflict with exclusive never-before-seen broadcast footage. From our base at Canada Dry 1 at Doha Airport, 24 combat-ready Canadian CF-18 "Desert Cats" were on strength along with a Canadian Armed Forces Boeing 707 tanker. We’ll join the crew on a 707 tanker flight to refuel several thirsty CF-18s over the Gulf. There’s plenty of action filmed on Doha’s busy apron, and we then join our troops for their 707 departures for Lahr, where a bagpipes welcome meets the men and women who served this country. After the Gulf War, the Canadian Armed Forces 707s supported peace-keeping missions during the Yugoslav conflict, delivered humanitarian aid, and participated in CF-18 refueling exercises in Canada’s high Arctic. And it’s all presented on this DVD. Lastly we visit the NATO AWACS contingent at Geilenkirchen for some AWACs and 707 flights. Overall, a must-have DVD for 707 fans.

The world's last two Martin Mars are operated by Coulson Flying Tankers based at Sproat Lake, near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Built just as WWII came to end, the two Mars are highly effective fire fighting aircraft that have worked the BC coast since the late 1950s. Being the world's last operational examples of the great flying boat era, the Mars attract attention everywhere. In January, 2008, Hawaii Mars C-FLYL was based in Vancouver Harbour for the annual Truck Loggers convention held at Canada Place. The Mars flew daily wowing crowds with a water drop right in front of Canada Place attracting extensive media coverage. Airline videographer Henry Tenby had exclusive access and filmed this historic visit using broadcast cameras.
