An American Airlines DC-10 crash lands on the 405 freeway in LA in this fictional account of a guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Probably the single most amazing aspect of 405 is that this film was not created by an army of special effects artists. It was not a project that took years to complete. And it did not cost a million dollars to create. In fact, 405 was created by just two people, in only three months, with the only expense being their time and personal home computers. Visit www.405themovie.com to see how film makers Bruce Branit and Jeremy Hunt made this amazing film.

The Yankee Clipper flew across the Atlantic on a route from New York to Southampton. The inaugural trip occurred on June 24, 1939. The Yankee Clipper crashed February 22, 1943 in Lisbon, Portugal. During the war the Yankee was assigned to the navy and allowed to continue passenger service between the United States and Portugal (indirectly serving all Europeans able to reach Lisbon). On February 22, 1943, after completing its 241st transatlantic flight, the Yankee Clipper circled for a landing on the Tagus River in Lisbon, Portugal. Her port wing tip skimmed the water, dug in, and she slammed into the river, breaking into several pieces, and sank inside of 10 minutes.

DHC-2 Beaver #274, c/s C-GHCT, Lake Lovelywater, BC, 1981 09 16. I refer to this video in the title as an "accident" in the sense that the intention, as is the case in any landing, was to conduct a SAFE, uneventful landing. The debate on whether it was an accident or a foregone conclusion is best left to the experts, arm-chair or otherwise. In a different forum. That being said, as there were no serious casualties, the footage of the incident was incorporated into the movie "Mother Lode ...
