A pair of VC-10s, in formation, take off for a 95 minute flight on Sunday 16th August 2009. This Families' Day event took us to Northern England and down the East Coast in glorious weather. The idling hose-retraction turbine can be seen on the port refuelling pod. Vulcan XH558 can just be seen parked near to the VC-10s. Videograpgher not known.

Air Canada Boeing 777 air-to-air footage taken from chase plane over Vancouver on a pre-delivery test flight flown out of Seattle back in March or April of 2007. It is a shame they chose such poor weather for this air-to-air flight.

Today there was a airshow at a local airstrip near Reykjavik. It was showing old cars and old planes. And the weather was perfect, winds calm, and temperature at around 18 on the celcius. Planes flew over and dropped candy for the kids . The oldest plane there was built in Iceland , a biblane, in 1936.

http://www.henrytenby.com/DVDs/CAF7071dvd.html The Canadian Armed Forces operated a fleet of five Boeing 707 transports (code named CC-137s) from 1970 through 1997. These reliable aircraft provided the Canadian military with a truly global deployment capability, with air-to-air refueling, humanitarian, and troop and cargo transport capabilities. The footage on this DVD was filmed using state-of-the-art TV broadcast betacams. This two-part visual documentary takes the viewer for an up-close visit exploring all aspects of the operation. On this DVD, a period CAF promo film explains the workings of a trans-Atlantic CF-5 refueling flight across the pond. We then fly from Kai Tak to YVR on a Vietnamese refugee flight in 1979. Then we join troops boarding their CC-137 at Quebec City for their flight to Andoya for military exercises, along with a tanker CC-137 escorting CF-5s across the pond. There’s ample footage of all the action at Andoya airfield with lots of noisy & smoky 707 footage. The CC-137s were based at CFB Trenton where we then soak up some winter cold weather operations. Finally, we join a sked-run military passenger flight between Ottawa and CFB Trenton.

In September 1956, the RAF received its first Vulcan B 1, XA897, which immediately went on a fly-the-flag mission to New Zealand. On 1 October, while approaching Heathrow to complete the tour, XA897 crashed short of the runway in bad weather conditions, the two pilots ejecting successfully although the rear crew was killed.
